Pottermore rita skeeter article10/31/2023 Teddy Lupin and Victoire Weasley put on a very public display of affection at the Cup, much to the disapproval of Bill Weasley.(“ Does she secretly hope to see Krum take the trophy at last? Or is this the kind of diplomatic neutrality one might expect of a ruthless careerist whose long-term ambition is undoubtedly to be Minister for Magic?“) Hermione, on the other hand, did not lend her support for either team. Almost everyone in the VIP box was supporting Bulgaria, except Harry’s son, Albus, who was decked out in green in support of Brazil.“The opening ceremony concluded with an interesting Veela/Curupira pyramid formation,” Ginny wrote. As usual, the men were enamored with the Veelas, but the Curupiras were more of an all-around crowd-pleaser. Pre-match show: The Bulgarians brought Veelas, and Brazil, Curupiras. Rowling reported on the event in the voice of Quidditch correspondent Ginny Potter and columnist Rita Skeeter Rowling’s official report here via Pottermore.įor those of you who don’t want to read the whole report, here are some of the important highlights of the game: You can read our full summary here, and J.K. There are actually several more extras related to Quidditch, and a long story for why wizards love Scottish rugby, which is a kind of secret password so they recognize each other among Muggles. In case you missed it, Bulgaria won the 2014 Quidditch World Cup final. If you can, do! Some of the extra tidbits she's giving are absolutely hilarious. There are lots of funny Beater jokes, actually.Ĭan you get an account on pottermore, StMags? I know it used to be some kind of lottery to get an invitation, but I would assume that now anyone can open an account. I found the mentions of the Japanese Beaters hilarious. It's a nice touch, given Ginny's past position. However, Chasers tend to get more mentions, imo. There is even a subtle emphasis on Chasers (I think), although all positions are emphasized on various teams. With the exception of the 'Muggles must be stupid' phrase, which is indeed jarring, the rest of the writing is both funny and polished (and much better than the 'Rita Skeeter' writing). They are very imaginative (there are about 20 of them, and yet they are different enough that I didn't find them repetitive - which is actually rather impressive). I spent an hour today reading all the Quidditch reports by 'Ginny Potter'. I can definitely see it, they both appear to have been slightly awkward kids, but I'm not sure where it came from canonwise. This isn't a criticism, I'm just curious, did Neville and Hannah even interact in canon? I know they had a bit of a following, but almost everything did, so. I was never sure how much JKR really knew about fandom except for the "surface" things (if you will) like The-Leaky-Cauldron and MuggleNet. or if that's precisely why she said that. I LOVE that she called Hermione the "femme fatale." I wonder if JKR knows some of the things fandom did with Hermione. And I don't doubt that Harry did raise Teddy, in a sense. "Raised by his grandmother and occasionally visited by Potter" doesn't have the same ring to it. (Although obviously this is also Rita Skeeter, who takes delight in being controversial.) Though he's in Harry's care? What happened to Andromeda? Then again, as I just said, it's Rita Skeeter so who knows. :P Sounds like some things haven't changed. And she objects to the "half-werewolf" bit. Percy's head of Magical Transportation? Must work into my fic, somehow.ĭeep down, a seventeen year old fangirl still lurks inside me.
